1. Why Hire an SEO Consultant vs an SEO Company?

Regardless of whether you are hiring an SEO consultant or an SEO company, you need to do your research and make sure you are hiring an actual SEO expert. Not someone who went to one SEO training workshop or a weekend conference and now claim to be a so-called ‘expert’.


Let me say this... I have personally run (on average) about 50 recurring SEO campaigns per month, each and every month, for almost 10 years now. Every niche you name it, the toughest keywords, the biggest Fortune 500 brands all the way to local dentists, lawyers, plumbers, contractors and even e-commerce sites all across Canada and the US. On top of that, literally optimizing hundreds of websites not to mention my own personal network of sites/blogs that I still run to this day.


You will be hard pressed to find any freelance SEO expert in North America with as much hands on SEO and link building experience. The best part? You get the agency experience without the agency price tag from one of the hardest working and most respected SEO experts around.

2. Are SEO Services or Results Guaranteed?

No ethical SEO expert or services provider can guarantee SEO results. Anyone who makes any claims of being able to do so should not be trusted. The SEO algorithms can not be gamed or bought, hence there is no way to physically guarantee #1 results, or even first page results within a specific time frame. That being said, an experienced SEO expert can guestimate with very good accuracy a timeline in which SEO results can be expected.

3. How long will it take to see SEO results?

The very first signs of positive SEO results can be seen in as little as 3-6 weeks, with the majority of initial results occurring in months 3-6 of an SEO campaign. That being said, most campaigns really deliver the highest return in months 7-12 and beyond. SEO is a long-term play, and it’s really more of a marathon than a one-time sprint.


One of the most important factors in determining the timeline of your SEO results/expectations is to take a current keyword benchmark, see where you currently rank and then evaluate the budget and corresponding timeline in order to deliver first page results. The other is obviously your SEO spend each month, as with more budget you can build more links and hence get much faster results.


A typical timeline for a site that is kicking around pages 3-5 to start would be:


  • start seeing positive movement in as little as 3-6 weeks, really the first signs of life for the campaign
  • start getting closer to page one, if not cracking the bottom of page one in the first 3-6 months
  • staying on the bottom of page one/start climbing up to middle of page one during months 7-12
  • climbing up to the top of page one and staying there within months 13-18

For sites that are already on the first couple of pages of Google, the results will be much faster than the timeline above.

4. How does Pricing work?

Pricing for a monthly SEO campaign is based on the following factors:


  • Number of targeted keywords
  • Competitiveness of targeted keywords
  • Current keyword rankings
  • Current backlinks & site authority
  • Clients goals/timeline/expectations

Monthly SEO campaigns start as low as $500/month and go up by increments of $250, current clients literally range from $500 month all the way up to $10,000/month. With more budget a higher quantity and quality of links can be targeted and built each month, thereby driving faster rankings for competitive keywords.


There are no fixed term contracts and service/billing cycle runs from the 1st to the 1st.

5. What SEO Reporting is included?

Every SEO campaign starts off with a benchmark keyword ranking report to analyze the current positions, then monthly keyword ranking reports are provided with results tracked weekly or bi-weekly depending on the size of the campaign.


A fully detailed and 100% transparent link building report is delivered each and every month for every single client regardless of budget with list of links built.
